The complete source for valid information on the USMS

This is part of a larger review from the publisher."Dr. Baltz's clear logic and willingness to ask the difficult questions are admirable. His ability to bring new life to seemingly insignificant details is truly amazing at times. This careful exegetical approach, encompassing most of the Gospel, makes this book more than just a specialized monograph. It is a book which could easily be used in 'New Testament Introduction' courses. By pursuing an important theme throughout the Gospel, Dr. Baltz's discussion of Lazarus as the Beloved Disciple was more than just entertaining and thorough; it had, for me, the effect of significantly challenging my old views about the authorship of John....his careful research, clear presentation and various new interpretations will certainly cause the Lazarus hypothesis to be considered anew by many."--Dr. Lyle Vander Broek, University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, in Scholarly Research and Review.

Wonderful novel draws a multitude of emotions from reader

Oh, no wonder i couldnt win.

Dear America...

U.S.S. Louisville CA 28, 1943-45.His letters home, written while taking part in the Kwajalein, Eniwetok, Saipan, Guam, Leyte, and other operations, are in a breezy style which may be a bit off-putting to the modern sensibility, until it is understood that his facetious tone was deliberately adopted to keep up the spirits on the homefront. The reader in any case will forgive the stylistic shortcomings when he realizes how Bonnette earned his Bronze Star during a kamikaze attack at Lingayan Gulf in 1945.
It would have been nice to see some further research by the editors on persons, places, and events encountered by the Commander in his 16 months at sea, but the letters alone are a valuable record of a brave man and a fine combat ship.
